This piece holds a special place in my heart. I wanted to create something that paid homage to not only where my artistic journey started, but where my healing journey began as well.

Because when I started painting seven years ago, it became a therapeutic tool for me to process big emotions after a deeply transformative time. I started down the path of self-discovery and healing using alternative methods like embodiment and somatic practices, shadow work and inner child work. And throughout all that work, painting remained my biggest healing tool.

For two years I immersed myself in this container of self-acceptance and breaking down old patterns-especially those I repeated in love. I came to realize that I would never be able to hold healthy, calm, and safe love with a partner until I learned how to show kindness, softness, and love to myself first.

A Touch of You symbolizes this love story, the one I started and continue to nourish with myself, and the one I found in my partner once I learned to accept myself. A calm, steady and fulfilling love. No butterflies of anxiety, just shear belonging.
