A Thread Through Memory
A Thread Through Memory collection, exploring the memories we carry, the parts of ourselves they leave behind, and the process of learning to hold them with compassion.
The Collection
A Thread Through Memory explores the fragments of memory that live somewhere between clarity and fog.
Some moments stay vivid for years, while others feel like looking through frosted glass: blurred, fragmented, and just out of reach. Through layered, shifting colour, the collection explores the process of sitting with these memories, allowing them to surface, and learning to accept them as part of our stories.
In two paintings, vibrant blue marks move through the blurred forms like windswept threads. They represent the present self consciously exploring what lies beneath the surface, a thread through the fog. The two smaller works without the blue marks represent memories that have yet to be uncovered.
At its heart, this collection is about the remnants of who we once were, the grief and beauty held within memory, and the possibility of healing through feeling, remembering, and integrating the parts of ourselves we may have left behind.

Part of A Thread Through Memory collection, exploring the memories we carry, the parts of ourselves they leave behind, and the process of learning to hold them with compassion. Brighter and darker colours blur together in this exploration of the way memory rarely exists in just one emotional place. The vivid blue marks move through the painting like a thread connecting the present to something half remembered. For me, they represent the act of consciously exploring the past and finding pieces of ourselves still living there.

Part of A Thread Through Memory collection, exploring the memories we carry, the parts of ourselves they leave behind, and the process of learning to hold them with compassion. A quieter exploration of memory, built entirely from blurred layers of colour. The painting reflects the memories that remain just beyond our reach: the moments we sense are there, but haven’t yet been able to uncover. A reminder that not everything needs to be understood all at once.

Part of A Thread Through Memory collection, exploring the memories we carry, the parts of ourselves they leave behind, and the process of learning to hold them with compassion. Soft, blurred colour creates a landscape that feels familiar without being entirely recognizable. This piece explores the idea that memories can remain beneath the surface long after we stop consciously thinking about them. Without the thread moving through the painting, it represents the things we have yet to uncover, understand, or make peace with.

Part of A Thread Through Memory collection, exploring the memories we carry, the parts of ourselves they leave behind, and the process of learning to hold them with compassion. A blurred landscape of shifting colour, interrupted by vibrant blue marks that move through the painting like a windswept thread. The blue represents the present self moving through the fog of memory: exploring, unraveling, and following something that isn’t quite clear yet. A reflection on what happens when we begin looking more closely at the memories we carry.
